DataStage is a product by Ascential Software. DsWebMon is not a product of Ascential Software but does use their API to control DataStage jobs. It also requires the DataStage client to be loaded. The current version does most of what the DataStage Director does except over the Internet. We plan on adding more functionality so you can control most of DataStage administrator needs from the web. This version just starts, stops, resets and monitors DataStage jobs from the comfort of your home or anywhere you have Internet access.
DsWebMon takes advantage of a lot of third party software
to make DataStage job monitoring happen over the web. You will need a PC loaded
with the DataStage client. You will need this PC available to the Internet.
It will need IIS loaded or Apache with the ISAPI patch. We will have detailed
instructions on how this will need to be setup. Next each project on the DataStage
server needs software loaded to make this project available or controllable
by DsWebMon. This is also covered in the installation manual.
